Meeting Minutes by Paula FlahertyCommittee ReportsBeautification: Someone is still needed to adopt garden beds. See Dell Ziegler. Job Corps in East Liberty is doing window boxes this year--we will get them next year. Dell is working on a less costly prototype. Bryant Street: Marathon events : Caricature artist, petting zoo, music, face painting. Half of cost is paid for by Marathon. Cafe Bacci is now open where Cafe Flora was. The downstairs is open and the 1st floor should be open for the Marathon. Marcus Pharmacy has closed and is for sale due to the owner's death. Many expressed appreciation for years of service to our community. Faux finish painting business will be open in the fall. House Tour: None this year--not enough houses. Perhaps next year. Yard sale: June 7th. Judy Wolfe will deliver fliers at the Marathon to advertise. Membership-398 dues paying members. 54 comp members. Newsletter: Oliver Rieley would like to republish a recommended contractors list in the newsletter. Please send him your recommendations. Reservoir Covers: A potential solution has been found to the delight of many who have been working for so many years. Restoration: Historic review commission letter received stating that we get one of 25 such awards given in the city. The W. Pa Conservancy will do all the planting of the entry beds and the maintenance for 15 years. They will also raise $100,000 for us! Day Camp: The fees will be raised this year to $55 for members and $65 for non-members. $550 for scholarships was unanimously approved. Old NewsThe previous membership vote changes are nullified due to not following proper by-laws procedures. The bylaws can be changed if the next meeting is designated a special meeting. A vote was taken to designate the May meeting thus.
