The League of Women Voters of Greater Pittsburgh has published their voters guide for the primary election.

The League of Women Voters of Greater Pittsburgh, The Education Policy and Issues Center, & The Allegheny Conference on Community Development have put together their Voters Guide to School Board Elections in 11 Counties (hosted by the League of Women Voters of Pennsylvania) including information on school board candidates in Pittsburgh. Each candidate answers the following questions:

  • Why are you running for school board director?

  • Do you feel there needs to be a change to your district's policies regarding drugs, violence, and potential terrorist actions in the schools? What would those changes entail?

  • Would you support a regional goal of proficiency in reading, writing, and mathematics for each student? Why or why not? Do you believe your school district can reach that goal? What actions would you support as a school board member to ensure all children in your district achieve proficiency?

  • Do you feel that current funding is sufficient for your school district to adequately educate all children in the district? Why or why not? What do you believe is the best way to fund public education in Pennsylvania?"
